Exeter

Full of character and ancient history, Exeter is still able to offer all the amenities and comforts that would be expected of a modern day city. Exeter is the capital city of Devon and provides the county with a central base for education, medicine, religion, commerce and culture. The city is also home to the magnificent Exeter Cathedral, which dates back to Norman times.

Buckfastleigh

Set on the southern edge of the Dartmoor National Park surrounded by woods and meadows, the quiet town of Buckfastleigh is best known for the nearby Buckfast Abbey and the South Devon Valley Railway.

Totnes

The ancient borough of Totnes enjoys a prominent position above the River dart. The town is one of Devon's gems; full of both colour and character, that stems from a rich cultural, historical and archaeological heritage. It is the second oldest borough in England, and is full of interesting diversions for the visitor.

Salcombe

Devon's most southerly town is the picturesque holiday resort of Salcombe. The town with its mild climate and sheltered waterways, is a splendid sight during the summer months. The gentle, emerald green slopes of the South Hams hills form a spectacular backdrop to the crescent shaped estuary which is brought spectacularly to life by the myriad of white sails that wind their way too and fro across it.

Dartmouth

The ancient town and deepwater port of Dartmouth has to be one of Devon's main tourist attractions. Dartmouth is set in a picture book location, on the picturesque River Dart, with steep wooded hillsides on either side. Dartmouth's main Embankment runs along the length of the town, from the New Quay - built on reclaimed land towards the historic Bayard's Cove.

Newton Abbott

Newton Abbot straddling the River Lemon, has been a market town since 1220. This lively, bustling town, offers the visitor a whole range of markets as well as historic buildings, lovely parks and a working malthouse!
